TREND ALERT: 17 Biggest Home Decor Trends for 2019

“Cavern Clay” is a warm Terracotta orange that is meant to bring the warmth of the outdoors in…think beaches, canyons and the late afternoon sun. I did a similar color (Farrow and Ball’s Calamine Pink) in my home office makeover a couple of years ago. Behr is leading the way with their 2019 color of the year called “Blueprint”. Take, for example, Eddie Ross's latest line of hardware for Addison Weeks, which he debuted at High Point. The brass hinges, knobs, and pulls are textured to look like bamboo.

I came by the love of wallpaper honestly, since my mother also loves it. Contemporary fireplaces add a sleek and modern look to any space whether it’s indoors or out. It’s an easy way to add texture and interest to a wall…and it’s also easy to take down when you decide you want a change.

Matte black

Dunn Edwards has a very similar color of the year called “Spice of Life” as their color of the year for 2019. While I’m not sure I would go for a whole room painted in this color, a few accents here and there would really pick up a space. HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams has a similar 2019 color of the yearcalled “Reflecting Pool”. It has more turquoise and a little less grey but is definitely still an ocean-inspired color choice. Sherwin Williams included another brighter ocean blue called “Endless Sea” in their 2019 Shapeshifter Color Palette. As you’ll see, using nature to inspire colors is a common theme for 2019.

Gray is a staple neutral, but this year, you'll see it tinted with deeper undertones, like purples, blues, and greens. "This gives it an even inkier and sophisticated hue," Tolbert says. Light, wood-inspired shades are a great alternative to traditional beiges or tans.

Dusty Pinks

"We’re seeing a lot of this rich bronze, clay colors in 2019," says designer Wendy Hammerman. "While they’re a little reminiscent of the traditional Southwestern feel, the context is much more modern and industrial, which adds both drama and warmth to the space." If you prefer a little more color, choose hues like terracotta, rust, sage, or navy blue. If you’re having a hard time choosing, use a photo of your favorite landscape for ideas. While it’s easy to fall in love with trendy colors, remember to create a cohesive scheme. Everything from the big accents down to the smallest finish needs a curatorial approach.

For example, accent tables can also accommodate speakers and controls, while remote control shelving can open up to reveal a TV. Other popular items include polygonal sofas, sculptural storage and surfaces, and speakers that go as decor. Gone are the days of scooping up a single living room set and calling your decorating done. "Unless you want your living room to look like a showroom, matching furniture is generic and boring," says Jonathan. "A kitchen trend I'm ready to see out the door is matchy-matchy metal finishes," says Decorist Celebrity Designer Max Humphrey. "I know some designers insist on the faucet matching the hardware and the light fixture finishes and the barstools, but I like a mixed-up look," he says.

Interior color trend 2019 – pastel yellow and sunflower yellow

You may have noticed from that last picture from Behr that they also have an olive green called “Ecological” in their Inspired Curation palette. As you can tell from the name, it is yet another one of the nature-inspired colors for 2019. Behr also added a Terracotta-inspired paint color called “Mars Red” in their 2019 Down To Earth Palettewhich has more of a red base.

The yellow sunflower is also super charming, especially in the decoration of the chic adult bedroom. This colorful palette is dark enough, but the aristocratic look it will bring to your home is worth the risk. We recommend deep tones such as bishop purple, purple, pigeon and aubergine.

Painted Floor Tiles

It looks beautiful with light grey furniture and white moldings. While Farrow & Ball doesn’t have a specific color of the year, they do release color trends. The other fabulous shades that complete the majestic pattern are wheat, imperial yellow, orpiment and amber. They were given the yellow name “mature” because their sub-tones are not very bright, even deaf. If you’re not sure whether it will work in your home, consider having a black wall where there is ample light.

Browns and earth colors open up a lot of possibilities for your home. In fact, by sticking to natural hues, you always have a forgiving canvas. Choose paint colors that will make your raw material feel right at home. Now that we’ve been through all of the bold colors, light grey is definitely the most neutral of the 2019 paint color trends.

Add in dark green sofas to make your home feel as grandiose as possible.Just like olive green is here to save the day, deep hues of green are too. The shade is coming in extremely strong this year and while most don’t know how to feel about it, we are personally enjoying it. Blending it with modern bits of brown, gold and beige for a beautiful display that feels fresh and new. The idea is to have jewel tone accents that make a statementYes, you read that correctly, jewel tones are back on trend and we are excited. There is something fun and even exciting about jewel tone accents. With that being said, the key is working them in, where you feel there is a lack of color.

And the goal is to inspire you to use your own creativity to transform your house into a home you love. Add some fun patterns or greenery to bring an enchanting touch Pale pinks are coming in strong this year, whether that be due to how easy they are to work with or due to how fun they appear. Having the slightest hint of pink in your home can make a huge difference. Not only will it add color, but it will bring a feminine twist right where you need it most. We've all heard about Gen-Z Yellow; now, meet its sophisticated older cousin. This buttery hue is a surefire way to make any space cozy without going deep.

The emphasis on nature and sustainability continues to grow from the domestic trends of previous years. Not surprisingly, their aesthetic becomes even more refined and desirable. It looks beautiful with this door that is painted in Behr’s color of the year – Blueprint. It’s an updated version of the rose gold and blush pink that has been popular for quite some time now. Two of the palettes they’ve highlighted are “Cravings” and “Classico,” which come from opposite sides of the color spectrum.
